Patient coalition publishes appeal for transparent decisions on CBD access
An international coalition of patient organisations — Aube (Canada), Centrum Paraple (Czech Republic), Dosemociones (Spain), Fuck Cancer (Czech Republic), KOPAC (Czech Republic), Associação Mães Pela Cannabis (Portugal), PatientsCann (United Kingdom) and Verein Medcan (Switzerland) — has published “Care Before Discrimination — Patients’ Rights and the Proposed Restriction of CBD”, an open appeal to the governments of EU member states, the UN drug control bodies, and the institutions of the European Union.
The appeal responds to proposals to restrict CBD as a “drug precursor” — most immediately in the Czech Republic, where a restriction proposal entered the inter-ministerial comment procedure on 29 May 2026 without open public debate. The coalition’s demands: publish the evidence, no covert administrative restrictions, respect for patients’ autonomy and dignity, proportionate regulation instead of prohibition, enforcement against synthetic cannabinoids sold as “collector’s items”, and a formal seat at the table for patient organisations.
